Absolutely not!

By definition a Degree Mill is an institution, college, university, or seminary that awards a degree to a student after they have paid a prescribed amount of money, without having to complete course work, attend classes, or meet any educational requirements.

The degree requirements at Clarksville are challenging and will require our students to complete various assignments for each course of study. The academic work has been developed to challenge our students mentally, physically, and spiritually throughout their pursuit of a degree from Clarksville. Our courses, no matter the degree level, will require our students to read for content and understanding, to be independent thinkers and yet dependent on the Spirit of God to be their guide and instructor, and develop the ability to research and present their findings in a competent, professional and proficient manner.

For a secular or religious college, no matter whether they are a public or private college, in the State of North Carolina – if you plan to award your students with a degree there are certain and specific requirements that must be met in our great state.

First, a college located in North Carolina must be accredited by a recognized Accreditation Board, including private religious in nature colleges.

Secondly, for a college to award their students with a degree in North Carolina, the University of North Carolina Board of Governors must approve each year the degree curriculum for your institution of higher learning, verifying that the material you are teaching is degree appropriate. Without this review, a college cannot award its students with degrees in the state of North Carolina.

Clarksville has maintained a strong working relationship with the University of NC Board of Governors for over 20 years and is approved to award degrees to our students.

For anyone stating that Clarksville Theological College & Seminary is a degree mill, we have a standing challenge. Take one course from any of our degree programs absolutely free and you will soon realize the required course work is not associated with a degree mill institution. To say that a college is a degree mill without verifying for yourself the facts is defamatory and slanderous.
