Does Clarksville accept credits earned from another college or university?
The administration staff of Clarksville reviews each applicant’s official school transcripts, to determine which credits are transferrable. The staff will make every effort to accept and transfer credits earned for similarly offered courses however, the transfer credit acceptance is determined by Clarksville solely.
Any course grades equal to or below a “C-“ will not transfer for credit, and those credits will have to be retaken at Clarksville.
Is Clarksville Accredited?
Clarksville is a chartered, non-profit corporation, religious by nature and operates on an excluded status as required by the State law of North Carolina. Degree program(s) of study offered by Clarksville Theological Seminary have been declared exempt from the requirements or licensure under provisions of North Carolina General Statutes (G.S. 116-15 (d)) for exemption from licensure with respect to religious education. Exemption from licensure is not based upon any assessments of program quality under established licensing standards.
Clarksville has membership with American Accrediting Association of Theological Institutions, Inc. located in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.
Does Clarksville offer on-campus residence degree programs?
At this time, Clarksville only offers off-campus extended studies degree programs.
Our courses are delivered through a hybrid program of traditional correspondence studies and a growing library of on-line courses.
Clarksville currently has students around the world, studying through our extended studies degree programs.
We have students and alumni studying and serving in Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe and North America.
Where is Clarksville Located?
Clarksville Theological College & Seminary are located in Clayton, North Carolina, just a short 15 minute drive from Raleigh, North Carolina and we are close to the I-40 and I-95 interstates. Clarksville was formerly known as Clarksville School of Theology and was located in Clarksville, Tennessee prior to the school moving to Clayton, North Carolina in 1996.
What version of the Bible do you use?
We believe the Bible, the Scriptures of the Old Testament and the New Testament, preserved for us in the Masoretic text (Old Testament) Textus Receptus (New Testament) and in the King James Version, is the verbally and plenarily inspired Word of God. It is the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and altogether authentic, accurate and authoritative Word of God, and that it is the Supreme and Final Authority in faith and practice. Therefore we use only the King James Version of the Word of God for all classes and course work.
How much time does Clarksville recommended a student enrolled in the Extended Studies degree program devote to their course work per week?
Clarksville recommends and encourages our students to set aside 8 to 10 hours per week to complete their assignments, research, and assigned readings, as they prepare for the Lord’s work.
How long does an Extended Studies student have to complete their course work?
Clarksville recommends a consistent and steady work ethic for Extended Studies course work. We encourage our students to strive to complete a course every 3 months but realize there are circumstances that may require extra time. If a student requires more time to complete the course work, a call or email should be placed to the College Office for notification and approval. As long as a student is active and consistent with their course work and continual notifies the College Office with their progress, we will work with each student, on an individual basis.
The exception to the above rule is a semester offered on-line course. Students enrolled and registered for a semester on-line course will have deadlines for assignments to be submitted throughout the 15-week semester. At the end of the 15-week semester, no course work will be accepted for credit for this course.
How do I enroll?
The first step in becoming a student at Clarksville is to complete the enrollment packet. Forms are also available for download on our website.
After your entire enrollment packet has been received, reviewed, and the application and registration fees have been received, a representative from the College Office will contact you regarding your acceptance into the Clarksville global family. Newly accepted Clarksville students will receive an official letter of acceptance and an outline of the student’s financial responsibilities within two weeks of acceptance.
