What We Believe

We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the entire Bible, both the Old and New Testaments. We further accept the Masoretic and Textus Receptus manuscripts from which came the King James Bible and accept the King James Bible as the divinely preserved and perfect Word of God for the English-speaking world. We believe that this is the inerrant and infallible Word of God and that it is the supreme and final authority for our faith and practice.

We believe in One God; Who is eternal, self-existent, infinite, and immutable. We believe He has one nature, one essence, and one substance; yet manifests Himself to man in three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

We believe Jesus Christ to be the one and only Saviour of mankind. We believe Jesus Christ to be eternally God and to possess all the attributes of Deity. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was virgin-born, that He is God incarnate, and that the purposes of the incarnation were to reveal God, to redeem men, and to rule over God’s kingdom. We believe Jesus Christ never relinquished any attributes of His Deity, but merely veiled them. We believe He lived a perfect, sinless life, and at Calvary He offered His life as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice for all mankind; and all who believe in Him, are justified on the grounds of His shed blood.

That Sanctification is the process by which we are all made partakers of His Holiness. It is a progressive work, starting at rebirth, and continuing from that moment until death, (setting us apart from the world and the devil), at which time, we will be glorified.

In the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord. In His ascension into Heaven, and that now as the Head of the Church, He is our High Priest and Intercessor with God the Father.

In the soon, personal, literal, pre-tribulational return of Christ for the Church, and that following the Great Tribulation, will return to earth and set up His Millennial Reign for one thousand years.

We believe and promote World Evangelism though we are local church oriented. We support the independence of the local church for World Evangelism to fulfill the Great Commission.

We will continue to stand in the tradition of Old Fashion Baptist, believing those fundamental doctrines to be right and scriptural; and we do so on purpose.
The sum of all our theological beliefs is
Jesus Christ.
Everything we believe – the essence of our sacred doctrine – spring from knowing God through His Son Jesus Christ. He is the reason we exist, the likeness we strive for, and the motivation of our service and lives!
The College and Seminary are Baptistic in doctrine, serving through the Local Church and is open to all who agree to our doctrinal statement of faith.
We are not in competition with other channels of education. The academic programs are designed to teach the student how to study and apply the Word of God to their Christian life and ministry.
Foundations
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. (Prov. 9:10)

The Word of God is the source of all truth and is authoritative in all matters of life. Therefore, a thorough biblical philosophy of education must be implemented in all contexts of Christian education. Accordingly, the Word of God is the primary textbook in every course at Clarksville and it is essential in our academic curriculums.

Morality, values, character development, and servant leadership encompass the Christlike attitudes and actions we strive to instill in our students and our prayer is they penetrate all areas of our student’s lives.

Henry Varley was quoted when speaking to D.L. Moody, “The world has yet to see what God will do with a man (woman) fully consecrated to him.” Our planet is not just a mass of nationalities, but a populace of individuals and every community of our world can benefit from individuals who have been taught to pursue excellence while yielding and seeking to be led by the Spirit of God. Therefore, the successful Christian college and seminary must be committed to academic excellence, maximizing each student’s potential, to prepare them to reach their God-given potential.

All our thinking and decision-making takes place through a worldview. Our students are trained and learn how to think, process information, and think critically through a biblical framework. Therefore, we always seek to improve and grow to be the best educational institution and an instrument of God in the Preparation of His Servants to Serve.
